Everyone is welcome to come and hang out in the Hospitality Suite at PantheaCon, we are located in the Presidential Suite on the 9th floor. If you do not know where we are located, ask Information or a staff member.
Hospitality is open throughout the whole convention, beginning on Friday after the Opening Ritual. We close down on Monday after the closing ritual. We are open 23 hours a day, with one hour for "reset" in the early morning. Come in, introduce yourself. Take time to grab a snack, a cup of coffee, tea, meet friends, make new friends, sing, do needlework, grab some condoms. This is the place to meet, leave messages on our message board, take a break. It is what we are here for.
NEW!! For 2008-
As the number of Pagan Parents who attend PantheaCon with their children rises, we are adding some new features to the Convention Hospitality suite to accomodate everyone attending. The Hospitality suite has always been child-friendly, and will continue to be- but if you're looking for a place to sit and have a quiet conversation without the pitter-patter of little feet, this year we will also have the "Adult Room", which will be a space with comfortable seating and snacks, just like you've come to expect from Hospitality, but will have the added feature of being an adult-only room; this is the main room. In addition we have a "Kids room".When you come into the main doors of the Suite, turn to your right, instead of to the left- through that door will be the Kids Room- and welcome! All children in this room MUST be accompanied by their responsible adult.
To our fellow coffee, tea and hot chocolate drinkers, please bring your own coffee cup. Remember to keep it with you too. You might want to include a spoon, a nice linen napkin, maybe a small bowl or plate.
For Staff Members - please do remember to bring these items with you. If there is anyone who is interested and will do it, we would like to compost and recycle. If not, it all goes out in the trash.
The Staff asks that you do not store your belongings in the suite, there will be a coatcheck for that. Hospitality is not responsible for anything left in the suite, nor are we lost and found (Security handles Lost and Found). There will be no showering, nor dish washing in the suite.
There will be a community altar set up. Everyone is welcome to add to it (please put your name and phone number on your item if you want it back). Our altar is for all Pantheons.
The Hospitality Suite is also used for overflow from a class or workshop and BoFs (Birds of a Feather). This is important to note as in the past some folks thought they were walking in on a class. Whatever the activity, anyone can come in.
The Hospitality Crew begins their work about six months before the Con. We plan, we shop, we chop food, we clean up, we brew coffee and grind the beans. We don't do windows or wash other people's dishes. We are on site the entire time and sleep goes out the window. Remember we do get tired, cranky and irritable, especially if we don't get a chance to leave the suite or have spent the day shopping and missing all the fun. We work, folks, and it is why we are here - this is our service to our community. We believe in our community and support it by being here. So if we growl, remember we may be hungry, need a nap, need to go do a ritual, or just need a break.
A hug, a smile and/or a "thank-you" goes a long way!
